2024 marks the opening of the first Liminal Embassy in Monti Prenestini, after two years of working with area stakeholders on mapping, digitization, and territorial identity projects. To celebrate this milestone, the inaugural Liminal Assembly will take place in Monti Prenestini. It will attract an international audience to a territory that remains little-known despite its authentic beauty and close proximity to Rome.

Liminal Assembly is an event dedicated to members of our organization. Additionally, local volunteers who are contributing to the organization of the Assembly have the opportunity to attend.

Monti Prenestini is located just beyond the outskirts of Rome. Liminal Embassy Monti Prenestini will be located in Castel San Pietro Romano, a small town near the city of Palestrina (approximate population of Palestrina: 24,000)
Renowned for its natural beauty, Monti Prenestini features 300 km of trails and several historic settlements. It is approximately an hour's drive from Rome.

The event will include a series of activities and offerings that will be complimentary for all members. For a sense of what these are, please refer to the schedule preview. Amongst the activities are three aperitivos and one supper.

Accommodations in the Monti Prenestini region can be limited and rudimentary due to the fact that it is not a tourist destination. However, this website provides a dedicated section for exploring different accommodation options.
The Liminal team will also assist members with accommodations and general logistics leading up to the Assembly.

It is recommended to have a car for easiest access to the Monti Prenestini region, especially when coming from Rome or its airports. This gives you the most flexibility. Public transportation in the area is limited to COTRAL bus routes.
If you are not driving to Monti Prenestini, it possible to take the train to Zagarolo Station, and organize a private shuttle to Monti Prenestini (15-20 minutes).
Liminal will facilitate connections among members to encourage car sharing and shared accommodations.

Yes, remote working from Monti Prenestini is possible. Our embassy will be open to members. However apartments generally do not have wifi, so you may want to keep that in mind as you plan ahead.

Given that the available accommodations in Monti Prenestini are mainly apartments, it should be straightforward to extend your stay at a reasonable cost. Liminal Embassy Monti Prenestini will be at your disposal to access high-speed internet and workspace.
The Transitioning a Landscape challenge will begin immediately after the Assembly, and the Liminal core team we will remain in the area until the end of the challenge.
